This blanket chest was made with a nod to the British “campaign" style, which has a coincidentally contemporary form driven by their army’s need for simple, robust furniture for travel. Though, the chest deviates from a traditional dovetail chest with the continuous face so that the dovetails would repeat through its entire height. All dovetails were hand-cut, and hardware flush inlaid. The top was done with a loose panel to ensure that it will last for generations to come.
